Does anyone know the answer to this guitar rig question?
Well I used to use a line6 flextone III. I noticed a rhythmic little "pop". It's not in time with the tap tempo, it stays the same always. I used to think it was just with line6 things, but when I recently upgraded to a Vox AC15TBX, I noticed the same thing. I do run the line as guitar>boss SD-1(super overdrive)>to sometimes a low-end behringer multi-fx pedal, not normally though> to the "front" of the amp. I plan on picking up a few better pedals soon. Anyways, I'd be grateful for some insight;).
Thanks!
Hello there,
I don'tl know for sure what is causing it. I can think of three possible sources. First, check the power in that electrical line. Plug the rig into another electrical outlet that is on a different fuse to see if you still get it. If not, something else on the electrical line is causing it. A surge protector might cure the problem but not certain. If you still get the pop on a different electric line, then plug in only one pedal at a time. If you don't get the pop when the overdrive is plugged in (but not the mulit-effects). Then test the multi-effects alone plugged in to the amp. If you get the pop, sometime in the multi-effects pedal is causing it. If there is no pop with the multi-fx plugged in (without the overdrive) then for some reason the two pedals are not conpatible. Try reversing the order, with the overdrive after the multi-fx to see if that cures it.
Oops. I forgot the first step. You should try plugging a different guitar into your set up first. Maybe the problem is in the guitar. If not, then go through the tests above.
